Taylor Swift Sets Female Digital Records Sales With We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

Just last week Taylor Nation was going crazy with the release of Taylor Swift’s newest single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Fast forward to this week, and WANEGBT is busy breaking records (as Taylor’s music typically does).

In just a week, WANEGBT has proudly claimed the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100!!!

“It’s official: Taylor Swift has set the record for the biggest digital sales week ever for a song by a woman. ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’ sold 623,000 in the week ending Aug. 19 — according to Nielsen SoundScan — and it thus debuts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Songs chart. Not only is it the best week ever for a woman, but the second-largest ever overall. Swift also nets the largest debut week among women.”

    This song is still #1 overall on the US iTunes store. It’s been two weeks. Amazing. I wonder how many copies the song has sold now? Scott Borchetta tweeted today they already sold over a million copies worldwide.

    This song quickly climbed to the top of my 25 most played songs. And that wasn’t easy. The old top song was the whole Live CD at 1,001. I’m now at 1,701 plays for WANEGBT in just two weeks. The song is so good it doesn’t even get boring when you put it on repeat and play it all day.
