“The Outside” Song Analysis — Episode 137 of Taylor Talk: The Taylor Swift Podcast

The-Outside-FanMade-Single-Cover-taylor-swift-album-14870530-500-500As bad as it sounds, we’re happy Taylor Swift didn’t have friends in middle school. In Episode 137 of Taylor Talk: The Taylor Swift Podcast, we discuss one of the first songs Taylor ever wrote, “The Outside.” In “The Outside,” Taylor talks about what it’s like to be on the outside looking in, a feeling everyone can relate to at least one point in their lives. However, there is hope. Taylor’s story is proof that even though you may feel like an outcast, what makes you different makes you special. The very same kids who made fun of Taylor for liking country music now get to look up at her performing on stage in front of thousands of people. Enjoy the episode!

Taylor Swift Donates to Boston School for the Deaf

The Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Boston, Massachusetts fell victim to some nasty online pranksters this past month. Recently, VH1’s Save the Music program sponsored the “Taylor Swift on Campus Contest” and the school who had the most number of votes would receive a special Taylor Swift concert. However, a group of pranksters thought it would be funny for deaf students to win. As a result, Horace Mann was disqualified.

However, Taylor Swift, with her classiness and integrity, made it right. Taylor Swift and her sponsors generously donated $50,000 to the K-12 school and Save the Music donated $10,000 in musical instruments. In addition, Taylor gave each student at Horace Mann a ticket to her next local concert.

So here’s to the pranksters: someday soon the kids you bullied will be seeing Taylor Swift perform in a big ol’ city, and “all you’re ever gonna be is mean.”
