The Music

Taylor Swift Announces her RED Tour!

Stories From Behind the Songs

This interview is a MUST watch! Taylor goes in-depth about the meanings behind the songs as well as what inspired them. To her, the overarching theme of RED is embodied in the lyric from “Red”, “Love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right.”

Music Video for “Begin Again”

A few days after RED‘s release, Taylor released the music video for “Begin Again,” which was gorgeously shot in Paris. The video was directed by Philip Andelman, who was behind other music videos for Colbie Callait, Demi Lovato, and John Mayer.

Taylor on Talk Shows / Other Interviews

Taylor Swift on Good Morning America

Taylor’s first interview on RED release day. She talks about her new music and how she said WANEGBT was meant to “drive her ex crazy” when she was having a bad day. Apparently, “All Too Well” was the hardest for Taylor emotionally to write. She said it was almost a ten minute song, and she had a lot of material to sift through.

Taylor Swift on David Letterman

Taylor appeared on David Letterman’s show for a hilarious and adorable interview. She admitted that when she was being interviewed by Rolling Stone, she was hoping she could prove she was a safe driver, but instead, she was so stressed so got in a car accident. Brian Hiatt, who wrote Taylor’s article in Rolling Stone said Taylor “saved his life with her defensive driving skills.” But much to Taylor’s dismay, that quote did not end up in the article. In the second video, Taylor agrees to consider writing a song about Dave! After the interview, she performed “Red” for the studio audience.

Taylor Swift on Ellen

Taylor Swift visits Ellen for some Halloween haunts, boyfriend jokes, and socks. Taylor also sang “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “Red” at an outdoor performance after the show. Belle and Diane, two hosts of Taylor Talk, were present for her outdoor performance. Click here to read their recap.

Taylor Swift & Katie Couric

This is quite the lengthly interview (four parts on Youtube, each at least seven minutes long), but it’s worth it. Check it out!

All Access Nashville with Katie Couric

This ABC special features popular female country artists, including Taylor Swift. The interview features a look back at the Speak Now tour, her Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit, her cat Meredith, and new music from RED. Taylor also explains why she’s so private about her personal life: “I think that my personal stories sound better in a song than in an interview in quotes.”

Taylor Swift on The View

In this extensive interview, Taylor talks about the emails she gets from her exes about the songs she writes about them, how chill her cat Meredith is, as well as the time in high school she and her best friend, Abigail, were Chewbacca for Halloween.

E! Online One-of-One interview

Taylor talks about the story behind “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and what the album title RED means to her. She also reveals that “The Lucky One” was the hardest song for her to write on the album because it explores her fears and talks about “this girl who makes it big and gets famous, and then realizes that it’s not what she wanted.” But rest assured, Taylor is enjoying her career!
